During the pandemic of 2020 gym closures and lockdowns left many women looking for new ways to engage in fitness. My online training packages have been a perfect solution during these challenging times. So now it doesn't matter where you are in the UK (or even the rest of the world!) wherever you are you can access my expert guidance and support remotely.

Online training appointments are conducted via Zoom. The processes I use for online training follow closely to the in person experience I offer at Her Garden Gym. In discussion with you I am able to access your current health status, understand your lifestyle, and your main aims and objectives. From this I am able to design a training programme that fits into your lifestyle, and to meet your needs. Online clients normally work with me over a 10 week period initially, after which time clients may prefer monthly check-ins although many choose to maintain a regular weekly appointment.

Online clients may benefit from purchasing some small handheld weights, and an exercise mat, and this is something I offer further guidance during the consultation process. You can read more about the type of home gym equipment I recommend on my blog here.

Important Guidelines For Online Training Clients

These include but are not limited to the following:

As your instructor I confirm I will:

  • Only work within my area of knowledge and expertise, supported by a nationally (UK) accredited instructor qualification/certificate in the specific area of instruction and apply relevant health and safety guidelines at all times
  • Pre-screen each participant prior to every training session. If the participant has any medical conditions, injuries or other conditions which may affect their participation in the proposed exercise activity they must gain consent from their GP prior to participation
  • Assess the suitability of the activity based on the health and capability of the participant, follow any specific guidelines provided by the GP, adapt the exercise accordingly and closely monitor health and well-being
  • Provide safe and effective instruction to prevent injury and promote health
  • Ensure confidentiality of data in line with GDPR. Relevant permission must be gained in order to share content

It is your responsibility as a participant to ensure:

  • There is sufficient space to perform the exercises safely and move freely without obstacles or obstructions, free from furniture, equipment and other hazards – a minimum of four square metres per person
  • Any equipment is safe and in a suitable condition for the activity being performed
  • The surrounding floor space is entirely clear to remove any hazards that may increase the risk of slips, trips or falls
  • There are no distractions throughout the duration of the session
  • There is sufficient heating, lighting, ventilation and hydration.

In addition if you are following an exercise programme I have suggested for you to follow at home, between any sessions you attend live with me then it is important you adhere to the following:

  • You are feeling fit and well on the day you intend to exercise
  • You complete an adequate warm up and cool down
  • You monitor your own level of exertion and increase or decrease intensity as necessary
  • Abide by all points above under It is your responsibility as a participant to ensure

By performing any fitness exercises without supervision, you are performing them at your own risk. I (Jacqueline Hooton) will not be responsible or liable for any injury or harm you sustain as a result of this fitness programme, online fitness videos or information shared on my website. This includes emails, videos and text.
