Jacqueline Hooton - Her Garden Gym

I’ve had a long and varied career in the fitness industry which has included working with numerous of clients, presenting at industry events and teaching hundreds of fitness students. I’m a keen runner, taking part in many races including two London marathons, enjoy strength training, and have competed as a female figure athlete.D

During my career I have worked as a Fitness Tutor and Assessor designing and delivering training content and courses for leading industry training provider Future Fit Training. I have also supported top sports nutrition company Reflex Nutrition in a Brand Ambassador role, and led the development for the first Sports Nutrition Training courses for athletes and fitness professionals in 2014.

I am currently supported by international sportswear brand Women’s Best and am proud to be associated with a fitness company that strives to make inclusive fitness clothing suitable for all women.

I created WIFE (Women in Fitness Empowerment) Events for professional women working in fitness in 2015, and have presented at major fitness events including FitPro Live.

I’ve appeared on BBC’s The One Show, BBC South Today, BBC Sussex and Spirit FM and I have been featured in, and written articles for, many national newspapers and magazines including The Independent and The Huffington Post.

Supporting issues close to my heart is important to me, and through fitness activities I have raised thousands of pounds for charities including CLIC Sargeant, The Sussex Snowdrop Trust, Anna Kennedy Online, MIND, Refuge, My Sister’s House and Survivors of Abuse.

I have received industry recognition for my work reaching the finals in the UK Active Training Awards for the ‘Most Inspiring Fitness Professional’ in 2014 and have won Jacqueline Gold’s WOW winner award as well as becoming a finalist in the Mumpreneur Awards.

In my late fifties now my own health and fitness remains very important to me. I’m especially interested in optimising health, performance and function for midlife women and beyond. I continue to research, study and add further qualifications to my extensive fitness knowledge in order to provide the most up to date and cutting edge service to my clients.

When I’m not working I enjoy spending time on Felpham and Bognor beach walking, running or cycling and photographing sunsets and sunrises.
